Our Firm History
Our firm, Evans, Edwards & Associates was established
in December 1980 when Tony Edwards and Bob Evans merged their small firms to form the partnership of Evans, Edwards & Associates (EEA). The practice was located on the first floor of 250 Quay Street, Rockhampton and had a visiting office at 2 Normanby Street, Yeppoon.
In 1980 the firm consisted of two partners, a senior accountant, a receptionist and a part-time computer operator. EEA was one of the first accounting firms in Central Queensland to use a mainframe computer network. The practice grew rapidly and soon established offices in Emerald and Brisbane. A
visiting office at Blackwater was also established in the
early eighties.
In 1989 our Yeppoon office became a full-time office
and now employs five people.
Emerald started as a full-time office in 1980 and grew rapidly until it was sold in 1991 to allow Mick Liddell (the Manager) to relocate to the Rockhampton office. Emerald clients are still serviced with regular visits to the part-time office by Mick and other accountants.
Rockhampton office outgrew its 250 Quay Street premises necessitating a move in July 1994 to our present location at 7 Archer Street. This is now the home for five partners, fourteen accountants and six administrative and secretarial team members. Our
Brisbane office now has 8 permanent team members
and is located at 9 Pittwin Road North, Capalaba.
The firm incorporated in July 2001 to become
Evans Edwards & Associates Pty Ltd as it is known now.
